Yes, patient still contagious even without coughing particularly when he touches his body secretions like saliva, his hands will be contaminated. Patient can transmit the infection to every thing he touches through his contaminated hands
Is this also the case, even in the incubation period?
I ask this because this is mentioned in a German Research published in The New England Journal of Medicine: "Transmission of 2019-CoV Infection from an asymptomatic contact in Germany".
Incubation period refers to the period by which the virus replicates inside cell of infected individual so when some genera complete the cycle of replication and generate new viruses the later will spread to infect other cells and some of them into the body fluid including oropharyngeal mucus and Silva. The genera can spread with the saliva of the infected person even in the asymptomatic state.
In my considerations, the person in incubation period will be more serious than the symptomatic individual because he can transmit the infection without any avoidance from the others.
It may be possible that a person can get COVID-19 by touching a surface or object that has the virus on it and then touching their own mouth, nose, or possibly their eyes, but this is not thought to be the main way the virus spreads.
Exactly; it is not the main way for virus transmission, but still it is one of the possible ways. Care must be taken to avoid touching the patient's own subjects.
These are at the moment the guidelines of the Dutch approach but I doubt it is sufficient enough to reduce spreading the virus...it is still growing and exactly following the Italian line of virus-spreading
