The soxhlet cycle does not start properly and I have an endless syphoning going on. How to prevent this problem?

When I am using the soxhlet, sometimes after the siphoning happens the extractor does not fill itself and there is an endless siphoning going on.

I have to stop the heating or manually help the setting for the cycle to start. is there a way to prevent this problem?
