The relationship between (O+N)/C and oxygen-containing groups

I have coated biochars with humic acid. The atomic ratio (O+N)/C analyzed by element analyzer decreased after coated with humic acid, but the oxygen-containing groups analyzed by Boehm titration increased after the coated with humic acid. Is it reasonable?

Yes because humic acids are rich in carboxylic and hydroxilic groups , but at the same time, the ratio C/O in humic acids is >1
