If this happen, this means that your analytical protocol and calibration relationship do not express the real extraction process. Or your calibration equation does not express the chemical processes in your real system.

The relationship between extraction constant KEx and distribution ratio Dc is given by equation (1) (attachment). Dc depends on enthalpy (DH) according equation (2), while KEx - from the free Gibbs (DG) energy according equation (3).

So, any perturbation in DH/DG leads to perturbation of Dc/KEx. This directly affects the calibration relationship, and thus - the corresponding equation.

DG/DH can be perturbed by:

- perturbation of T

- perturbation of P

- perturbation of ionic strength

- competitive reactions of adsorption/desorption.

- (nano) colloidal particle aggregation

- competitive reactions like formation of new coordination compound by ligand exchange, due to perturbation in the environmental factors; complexation with organic matter and more.

Towards speciation (Analytical chemistry I, materials in your question) your raw materials contain mainly MgO, Al2O3, SiO2, P2O5, CaO, Fe2O3 and U3O8 chemical compositions of the elements.

Towards processes (second part of your question), there are large set chemical reactions as I have pointer out, which are main topics of the following  courses in 'Chemistry': 'Analytical chemistry I' (speciation) and 'Analytical chemistry II' (chemical equilibria); 'Physical chemistry I and II' (thermodynamics, equilibria processes); 'Physical chemistry III (`chemical equilibria in colloidal (nano) systems); 'Coordination chemistry' and few more (Generally, BSc in 'Chemistry'). 

So, if you have basic education in 'Chemistry', this means that you presumably should know the answer to the topic of your question (If the quality of this basic education is good). If you have not basic education in 'Chemistry' (disciplines above), then you need basic education in 'Chemistry'.

As you could expect there is unable to educate via a forum platform, like RG. It is not University. 

The rapid increase in uranium oxide (U3O8) prices over the last few years, and the

changing fundamentals in the world’s uranium supply/demand balance have re-kindled

the interest in extraction of uranium from phosphoric acid.

This paper examines different technologies that can be used to extract uranium oxide

(U3O8) from phosphoric acid streams:

o Solvent extraction (SX) techniques modified and updated from those used

in previous SX processes developed in the 1970’s and 1980’s.

o Advanced Technology (AT) techniques that offer simpler processing

techniques, lesser equipment requirements, and lower capital and

operating costs compared with SX.

The paper will briefly describe how each of the processes work, and ascribe comparative

order of magnitude capital and operating costs to each process based on a hypothetical

uranium content in a typical phosphoric acid stream, for a standard size phosphoric acid

unit. Comparative economics will also be developed for each of these cases. Finally, a

recommended test program encompassing all three processes will be recommended for

those who may be interested in pursuing commercial development.
