Hellow.

I am wondering, the pace in which physicists publish a paper, seem to be very slow, in the good case, once every several months, in the not so case, once in one in half-two years. [only the time the pre-prints appear, before the "Peer review"] The older age publish more rarely, some don't publish pre-prints at all.

1. Is someone addressing the older age for the gaps, years, they don't publish pre-prints ?

2. Is their salary affected by what they don't do but suppose to do or only by their academic rank ? (Trivial Question, we know the answer)
