Vitamin B-12 deficiency has become rampant now-a-days and medical practitioners believe that this is, in general, due to consumption of bottled water / treated water. Filtration-cum-UV treatment can remove microbes and not the minerals from the drinking water. Whereas Reverse Osmosis (R.O.) treatment coupled with UV can remove useful minerals as well as the microbes. Obviously, membrane pore-size will play an important role in the R.O. process.

Can drinking water treated by above-mentioned ways (both or one of the two ) disturb the intestinal flora and as a result give rise to Vitamin B-12 deficiency ?

If this is true then can consumption of curd in plenty, be a remedy to this phenomenon ?
