I am writing an IACUC protocol and would like to know people's opinions about the complexity of my protocol.

I want to generate infectious materials, then use them in a variety of ways. One way to write my protocol is to create the material, then write a separate protocol to use the materials, someone in my lab said it would be easier for IACUC to approve a single (invariably longer) protocol.

Does anyone have an opinion? Also, how would you phrase using infectious material in a variety of ways (cell-based systems, cell-free systems, titer assay, multiple inoculations, etc.)

Thanks!
