It consisted in the claim that the two time courses of an astronaut’s downfall onto the surface (“horizon”) of a stellar black hole – two days in proper time vs. almost infinitely many days in outer time – had equal standing.

The resolution is found if you apply time reversal. Specifically, assume that a frictionless trampoline had been mounted a short distance above the horizon so as not to dip-in in action. It automatically sends the astronaut back up after two more days of her proper time.

Now the zillion-dollar question: “After how many days of outer time will the astronaut re-appear?” Answer: twice, not two but, infinitely-many days. For matter cannot overtake light.

This result was overlooked for 77 years. The horizon has now become unreachable despite an infinitely slowed wristwatch and metabolism. But how come that Kerr, Wheeler, Penrose, Hawking, Wald, Thorne (with “Interstellar”) and all textbooks overlooked the time-reversal-symmetry? The longest-lasting logic blunder in science: an overlooked symmetry.

Or can anyone defend Oppenheimer and Snyder? CERN will gladly pay one million € to the first scientist able to restore the 77 years old “equal-rights theory” for travel times. The ten thousand CERN scientists are doing their best every day to produce miniature black holes on earth – objects endowed with voracious resilience in the wake of the trampoline.
