I think that the point of the study is that the technology aspects were more interesting to the students than conventional classroom lectures, so they were more motivated to learn. My profile has several other and more recent publications about using technology to enhance language learning.
Dear Michael W. Marek , Many thanks for your interest. The technology works in your system of teaching, I raised your work to find whether it will have the same impact in our context since we (during the pandemic period of COVID-19) adopted the use of technology in our EFL classes. Unfortunately, most of our students were demotivated to take part in our online classes. We spared no efforts to motivate them and to take an effective role in our classes but they didn't show any interest. They were happy just because they were out of the campus and no one would ask them to sit and listen to the teacher. This is a disaster in my opinion when students feel they are free just because no one would ask them to attend physically all classes.
Therefore, I will exert all efforts to conduct a study dealing with such major issues we face in our context(developing country), while in your context (developed country) there is no problem in using technology.

Idrees Zebari Yes, I know that many students this spring were shocked and demotivated by being forced off-campus. I hope that this fall will be better, even for classes required to be online that are usually face-to-face because I hope that students are now better prepared emotionally.
