I am preparing a Post-Doc project about the identity of Islamist Extremists. In this regard, is there any book (s) from Islamist extremists that can be analyzed by the methodology of discourse analysis and/or content analysis?
I gather you want to examine writings by islamist extremists? I think this may prove difficult. One reason is that fundamentalists do not encourage writings whether fictional or even nonfictional. However, I think you can find at least some of the speeches attributed to bin Laden (https://press.uchicago.edu/Misc/Chicago/481921texts.html) or Al- Baghdadi online. Good Luck with that.
First, what is the problem you intend to address or seek solution to?
What is the perspective? Religious? Ethno-sectarian? Political? Are you parroting other haters? Are you doing a damage control? Are you looking at the issue from terrorists/freedom fighters continue?
Abdelmadjid Benhabib you can get some insights from my article "Questioning Essentialism in the Construction of Post-colonial Identity" which treats the issue of radicalism from a post-colonial theory perspective. This article argues that peoples from previously colonized nations should uphold an 'inessential' form of identity that is based on an inclusive, cultural approach. Accordingly, they should shun any radical, exclusive approach to identity that will lead to violence and civil conflicts.
