We have similar experience here and increase loss of health personnel since the onset of the second wave and ? new strain. However, the survival in COVID-19 pandemic is not only dependent on new strains of the virus but other factors which are not limited to genetic markup, cellular immunity, presence of commodities, environmental conditions, over crowding, availability of protective and testing materials, beliefs and cooperation of the people etc. I suggest that

the survival capability/ increase in morbidity and mortality should be highly individualized.

Thanks, Oluyomi Ayodele Sir for your views and summarising the other factor of this pandemic of which a few of them could be avoided to break the transmissible chain of this SARS-CoV-2 virus and the same point are valid in the new stain as well. Although it's been said that the new strain is a bit more contagious than the previous one, few claim it to be more than 70-75%. But we should play safe by following the precautionary measures and following the govt. SOP protocols strictly for our and our family's safety.
