This is the CV curve of my material. The current value gets decreases while increasing potential value. None of references had this type of graph. Can anyone please help me why this happens.
The software or your potentiostat is using the US convention for the current sign: + for cathodic (reduction) current and - for anodic (oxidation current). It is the opposite of the international convention.
An example:
" A faradaic current due to the analyte’s reduction is a cathodic current, and its sign is positive. An anodic current is due to an oxidation reaction at the working electrode, and its sign is negative."
Thank you all researchers. Results are very nice after plotting the graph. Multiplying with -1 gives a good result. The problem is US convention current sign in the software.
