Hello everyone,
I'm working on VANET networks, and i'm trying to simulate some scenarios (benign and malicious application).
I tried to start with ns3. However:
- it is so complicated and needs too much time to learn it.
- Moreover, when i find a problem or an error, i can't find help in forums or facebook groups, no one answers me.
I tried to use NCTUns 6.0:
- No tutorials at all. Moreover, No help.
I tried to use NetSim v11:
- a great simulator. However, not free and the licence is to expensive (1000 USD for one computer).
What should i do ? my simulation is not very difficult, i just need to do some modification at the application level.
Any suggestion ? Where should i start?

Hello, I suggest i Fog in case you are familiar with it. As we talk in Networks Engineering, NS-3 is the best if properly installed. please check your installation packages and also the way you implement the formulas in the simulator.
i already installed ns3 and it works correctly, the problem is the community, no one answers you when u need help and its hard to master.
About iFog, it is the first time i heard about it. Do you have a link to start with it ? or at least have a look at VANET simulation with it ?

I suggest that NS-2 is simply tool for simualtion and it can provides you with a way of specifying such network protocols. C++ classes based on the TCL scripts are instantiated by NS2 simualtion.

I would suggest you try out the well accepted combination of SUMO and NetSim (https://www.tetcos.com), whereby SUMO handles the road traffic simulation while NetSim does the network communication. There are in-built interfaces / APIs to do this quite easily.
