I am doing a study where patients with a congenital anomaly either underwent a surgical procedure or did not and the amount of change in Parameter A is compared between the two groups. Using simple t-tests we can say that Parameter A improved more in the group that did undergo the surgery vs. the group that did not.

Now we would like to answer the question "Is the surgical intervention more beneficial for patients with Mild, Moderate or Severe deformity?" So again I am looking at the change in Parameter A for patients who did vs. did not undergo the surgical intervention, and trying to see if there is any difference in that change for patients with mild, moderate or severe deformity.

Is there a statistical test that fits this situation?

I am trying to be vague to not get too bogged down in the details, but I can explain more if anything I wrote is confusing. Thanks for your help!
