Is there a specific concept in strategic studies (or other disciplines) that describes the instance where a military leader/politician might be overexaggerating or bluffing the military's real capacity? Could anyone offer their/others' research that might be relevant? For context, I'm an IR student at the University of Exeter and am currently writing a 1600 word case study into the case of Burkina Faso's current counterterrorism efforts. Thank you!
As for the military and strategic capabilities with which countries operate, they do not differ from one country to another except for the presence of expertise among the military institution, as well as the extent of the possibility of using weapons in any possible battle and from one region to another due to the circumstances surrounding that region, which is what was observed yesterday in a terrorist operation inside Russia. Itself and who was behind that operation? So, according to the Russian perception, it is not possible for such an attack to occur in its own backyard, that is, the strategy in such an attack does not depend on large forces and heavy weapons, but rather it adopts the strategy of surprise attack.
