There are two TEM images of Euglena gracilis, but I am not sure what this structure is? It seems a bit like flagellum/paraflagellar body in the reservoir from my perspective... Is anyone familiar with Euglena?

Picture2 is Euglena fed with heavy metals so looks not so good, is there any chance the electrodense clusters are complexes of metals and proteins? Thanks!!
