Greetings. I am trying to synthesize BiFeO3 nanoparticles via hydrothermal method. I have got BiFeO3 but morphology and geometry is not uniform so it looks like impurities yet sample XRD is showing pure. Also the particle size by SEM is 1-2um which is not satisfactory as I have to study at nano size. Will you help me in getting pure, uniform nano size and uniform morpholgy? If there is some other best way instead of Hydrothermal please also let me know. Thanking you all in anticipation.
You can try to reduce the size of this particles using ball milling machine or by immersed it in water with a suitable surfactant and mixed the solution by sonication process with 1000 Watt. Also LASER pulses of about 1000 mj can applid into the same solution to obtain lower size of this particles.

High temperature treatment can improve the crystallinity, morphology and reduce deffects. You can also use Polymerization related methods instead of sol-gel one.

Thank you to all. Actually particles aggregates and their separation is a problem. when i try to separate them either they loose their morphology or uniform size. So therefor I asked the best way to get each particle separate and uniform size and morphology. Thank you for your kind attention.

I think one of the best way for synthesis of ferrites is microemulsion method because of the ability of controling the size and morphology.

Yes, of course. These papers are about synthesis of bismuth ferrite by reverse microemulsion (or reverse micelle) you need. This method can use for synthesis of most types of ferrites.
