During last month, I have been working on sustainability reporting in petrochemical companies. These companies have a big concern about their employees‘ hard working environment and for compensating them for this issue, pay for extra costs, like their family education or entertainment costs.
Now I doubt about classifying these cost? Are they social activity or HR?

I think this is an interesting discussion. According to my understanding, the costs can be grouped as HR, the key point is "the benefit" . If the cost is only received by internal stakeholder such the employee then it can be as compensation, bonus etc (agency costs). But social activity costs is broader, in terms of stakeholders and kinds of activity.
