I am a new learner of surface evolver software. I was trying to simulate droplet shape on hydrophillic hydrophobic stripped surface where the droplet is sitting on the hydrophhilic regime bounded by hydrophobic boundary. I was able to predict the droplet shape when the whole surface is at horizontal condition. However, if the whole surface is tilted at certain angle (say 5 degree) then what would be the profile of the droplet. The idea is to measure the contact angle hysteresis at inclined condition of the surface. I along with my colleague wrote the code but the constraint was an issue. If anybody has experience in this software could u help me out in putting the constraint or any inputs . I am attaching the .fe file for your reference. I am a PhD student in Mechanical Engineering at IIT-KGP.
I would like to start learning surface evolver software to determine equilibrium shape of a liquid meniscus. I came across a GUI for surface evolver named SE-FIT.
However, I do not know how to set constraints for the initially flat liquid meniscus lying between two cylindrical pillars.
I request your advice on modeling this kind of problem in surface evolver. Whether I have to write codes to set constraints in Surface Evolver or can I easily set constraints using SE-FIT or any other kind of GUI which would be easier?
