We're making something special for the lab. We need a 4m long linear rail, that can push 27kN at 20mm/s speed.
Two NEMA 42 motors with a screw could deliver the performance. It's hard to find a provider, though. It's not a typical, standard order.
I would look into McMaster carr (https://www.mcmaster.com/screw-rods ). They do have a wide variety of options. They also do customized orders as well.
Try a large CNC manufacturer such as Fagor for example. Maybe they could attend the request. It is very difficult to make such a large linear track.
Ended up using Bosch Rexroth. They got modules that are shielded and run up to 5m. Large enough stepper motors are hard to come by though. Seems the big industries have abandoned "simple" solutions in favor of complex "universal" solutions... ethernet cables and communication protocols. No more simple "push button up, push button down" options. But... fair enough. Can make that by ones self :)
