Hello! You can try Mann-Whitney U-test, since you have 2 groups of companies (according to their awareness) and ordinal measure of turnover. Also, you can calculate rank-biserial correlation in order to assess the degree (strength) of this correlation.

Given that you have cross-tabulated data, I recommend you to check out the measures of association related to this kind of data. For example, Cramer's V, which is based on the chi-square that is used to test independence. But if you want to test the "association" between the different categories that you have in your data, Goodman and Kruskal's lambda is a good option.

If I remember well, all of the previous measures are in SPSS, so you will have no problem. Nonetheless, in Wikipedia, you may find a short description of the measures that may give you an intuition of what to do and how.

You can use Chi Square test if you want to answer the question: Is there a connection between turnover and awareness? But if you want to answer the question how strong this effect is, you need Cramers V.

Chi Square returns a valid test if 80% of the cells in the contingency table have an expected frequency greater than 5. If the requirements are not met - >Continuity Adj. Chi Square or Fisher's Exact test.

Fisher's Exact Test is very computation-intensive and take very long computing time (even nowadays ).

Cramers V range between 0 and +1.

smaller Effect -> V= 0,1

medium effect -> V= 0,3

huge effect-> V=0,5

Every statistical program has these tests.

1.Turnover of company(Categorical) and

2.Awareness level of trade agreements (Continuous)
