The best free software for downloading referenced satellite bases is SAS planet. You can select topographic maps, Landsat, OpenStreetMap, terrain, etc. It gives you the possibility to choose a projection and save it in various formats and zooms. In other programs, shapefiles can be easily inserted and displayed on maps.
