Hello,
is it possible to simulate the amount of slag that is generated under certain conditions (pressure, temperature, holding time of the melt)?
e.g. can i enter a chemical composition of a steel (fe,cr,c,si,v etc.), the amount e.g. 6 tons melted, melting time (like 90min) and after wards i somehow can see in factsage how much slag there is probably created afterwards?
I am working of simulation of the melting process in the medium freq induction furnace.

It is not possible to add the holding time, because FactSage simulates the thermochemical equilibrium and therefore the holding time will be infinitely long.
However, in theory, the simulation of the slag/metal equilibrium and therefore the amount of slag and metal is possible.
But I would assume, that if you add the influence of the atmosphere, the simulation will probably predict higher amounts of slag generated, due to the infinitely long holding time.
Also, the databases for vanadium oxides in the slag solutions aren't that detailed compared to the other metals you mentioned.
