In low frequency railways it is common with single-phase synchronous machines.
Anyone that knows how to model them dynamically in a trustworhy manner?
Moreover, there are many approaches. Sometimes people talk about single-phase machines but actually use only two phases of a three-phase machine. The dynamical behaviour of such must be very different from a machine with e.g. only two phases 180 degrees from each other - right?
Any experience people with knowledge?
