Since there is only one CNT in the simulation box, what is effect of its relative pose and orientation to the shearing on the friction?

Can anyone please explain the effect of relative pose and orientation ?

I though, if you work on metals you will don't face this problem, because metallic bonds have "no directionality rules", any equal forces will have the same effect on the metal despite its direction. Opposite to case of CNT where the rules of directionality have major effect due to covalent bonds.
