The question is wheter you know exactly the composition of your silsesquioxane. They are not always uniform in composition, so the ideal formula does not always fit. if you know exactly the Si-content, you will know the amount of SiO2 formed. One problem is that silsequioxanes are oxygen deficient with respect to silica (SiO3/2 instead SiO2), so you will haveto use oxidative atmospheres whn firing. Another problem is that a part of your Si may evaporate in the form of volatile decomposition product. Therefore your batch composition should be determined empirically, the chamical claulation is only a first guess. I suggest you to use TGA/DTA for exploring the details of the process.
