I am modeling bending for a laminate. Is it possible to model bending using just an RVE? I initially used a 3-point bending test, but my professor mentioned that bending in Classical Laminate Theory (CLT) is expressed in properties in unit length. Therefore, you can create a RVE of the unit length to calculate the stiffness parameters. How should I model this? What boundary conditions should I use?

the same way you can calculate the elastic properties with an RVE by applying pure axial and pure shear strains, you can calculate the ABD matrix of an RVE by applying carvatures as shown in the attached picture

The axial and shear loadings will let you calculate the A matrix and the curvature the D matrix respectively. By comparing the results between the FE models and CLT you will observe some differences due to the fact that the CLT is an analytical method ignoring the interaction between the inhomogenities.
