I want to deposit Silicide coating on Larger part. Could anyone suggest please which of the diffusion coating technique is more suitable for silicide coating:
Please go with the halide activated pack cementation.
The halide-activated pack cementation process can modify to produce a doped silicide diffusion coating on high temperature structural alloys in a single processing step. The morphology and composition of the coating depended both on the pack composition and processing schedule and also on the composition and microstructure of the substrate. Higher pack suppresses the formation of CrSi2 and reduced the growth kinetics of the coating. Doped metal can be homogeneously distributed in the coatings. Under cyclic and isothermal oxidation conditions, the metal-doped silicide coating protects the high temperature alloys from significant oxidation and pesting by the formation of a metal-doped silica film.
