I will reject the donor if there is a chance that the infection could be transmitted to the recipient. Where there is doubt, it is still best to err on the side of caution.
Its certainly seems to be a risky situation to accept a patient with active brucellosis. The risk of transmission in a immunocompromised recipient will be extremely high. I would suggest infectious diseases team opinion regarding the waiting period before you can consider someone free of disease. hope this is helpful.
It seems that active infection increases the chance of transplant rejection in the recipient.Therefore, I recommend that patients treated and then after a period of waiting transplant to be performed
