Should sutures be removed during tensile strength and bursting pressure measurement of experimental intestinal anastomoses or not?

I need to measure the tensile strength and bursting pressure of experimental intestinal anastomoses in an animal model. During tensile strength measurement of skin incisions, the sutures should be removed before testing. Can anyone please explain if intestinal sutures should be similarly removed or not before testing considering that skin is sutured with non-absorbable sutures while absorbable sutures are used for intestinal anastomosis. Thank you in advance.
