I realize that money is an issue for a lot of persons. There are many courses that are free that are actually quite good. Many of them give a completion certificate. Should companies start to recognize this as valid credentials when applying for a job? Are there companies that already recognize MOOCs credentials?

Mardene, This is an interesting observation! Credentialism and certification has been an obstacle to people to achieve their dreams and aspirations. This is the reason why I would highly support the evaluation of teachers in the field in terms of how much they have helped individuals to achieve their dreams and aspirations.
