i am going to establish a project as my master thesis, so normally i have to submit a paper as report of finding and result.
the project who i have chosen is about face recognition. initial idea is to write a code that is able to detect faces in picture, compare it with stored faces and as output provide a list of people in the picture.
my doubt is _
1. since its a project, should i define a problem in paper? if yes how?
2. how can i choose most relevant paper, book or published as reference/resource for my project?

You need to meet your supervisor to discuss and decide your problem for master thesis. You also need to go through recent papers from IEEE and science direct to know about the recent work on the problem you are going to decide
