Recent American study indicated that younger scientists are less likely to make their data available to others (either through their organization’s website, PI’s website, national site, or other sites.). On the other hand, older scholars (over 50 years) tend to share their scientific work.
What do you think the reason behind such behavior from young researchers ?
Please could you share the link for this study to be able to discuss the validity of this study, because I think the opposite is true and more realistic.
I think it the mindset of individuals that prompt sharing of data.Older researchers at the end of career feel sharing of data for further analysis as part of knowledge sharing.

We thought that the pressure to publish to get their tenure make them spend less time on curating data for public use.
