I have already done some work on this aspect - psychology and culture - the POVs and other explanatory aspects to understand the relevant implications on the sexually explicit materials in the media. There are many models related to the cultural studies that can be used when it comes to analysing these aspects from cultural point of views. For Psychology - what can a relevant theoretical framework in this regard? I want to explore a number of psychology related theoretical frameworks in this regard...
From one perspective, the sexually explicit materials-dependency, impact, and its depth could be vary based on the variable of age: (1). regardless of the factor of "money, power, control-by media" in global level, in the middle-age-crises periods, there could be the highest level of sensitivity or being influenced by these materials, as a result of newly decreased sexual-power, with fluctuations. On the other hand, in early-teen ages & higher, there is a different level of a newly exposed to flourishing sexual sensations could create sensitivity and dependability without-fluctuations. In older ages, the impact of the sexually explicit contents in media, is at lowest level, for most, unless among especific cultures. The essential matter in this regard would be the direct impact of the environment in childhood and teen-age exposures. Overall, in current global world, and the higher number of elderly-population, the media has a new homework to adjust their strategies, to be able to attract the larger percent of these "target group" of senior-citizens in the society.
Freud plus media's uses and gratifications theory , cognitive leaning theory will form the theoretical framework.
Scholars also use the Third Person Effect to understand how the audience members would be inclined to perceive that negative news or events do not influence them but that others are likely to be influenced by such sexually explicit materials.
THE relevant theoretical framework for aggression and sexually explicit materials in Psychology started with Bandura's social learning theory and his empirical studies. Today, psychologists such as Eron, Huessman, Gerbner, etc. testify before Congress regularly and their work is part of what is generally referred to as social or cognitive learning, which includes vicarious learning and modelling.

Definitely social learning, TPE as other people already stated. If necessary, cultivation and desensitization may also make sense. How will sexually explicit media content change people's perceptions' of realities? Does it make us feel numb and ask for more sexually explicit content? Besides, the schema theory has long been applied to look into gender stereotypes and female role portrayals and how they influence people's perceptions and learning processes.
