Hi, can anyone tell me how to conduct a basic one at a time sensitivity analysis (for criteria weights, although also ideally for criteria themselves) in Excel for a spatial Multi Criteria Analysis problem? Thanks in advance.
Could you clarify the question please? Are you looking for selection criteria such as from an attribute table of a shapefile so that you can define a region that satisfies several criteria in the attribute table?
If you want to use data from Excel to GIS, the only way to use this is converted data in EXCEL to GIS, for example, Comma Delimited Text File when you transformed you can successfully import to any GIS software. Also, like the scientist before said, your question better explain. GIS read many types of data, including data from EXCEL
Thanks for your responses. To clarify, I have conducted a spatial multi criteria analysis in a GIS using Analytical Hierarchy Process. The analysis comprises 5 criteria maps combined according to specific weights using the weighted linear combination function to produce a suitability index. Criteria map weights were generated based on expert opinion using a pairwise comparison matrix. I now need to test the sensitivity of the suitability index to changes in, firstly, the criteria weights, and secondly (if possible) the criteria themselves. There are several software platforms that can perform this, however, according to earlier answers to a related question, it seems it is also possible to do a simple sensitivity analysis of weights in Excel using a one at a time approach, i.e. changing each criterion weight iteratively to determine how stable, or sensitive the suitability index is to changes in respective weights. I was hoping someone could elaborate on how this can be achieved in Excel.
The issue is not about importing excel data to GIS, or importing any format of data to GIS, its about conducting a sensitivity analysis of criteria weights for a spatial multi criteria analysis, in excel.
