Sending DNA fragments to the brain for transfection?

I'm thinking about making K/O mouse model to research neurodegenerative disease

Within my knowledge, i can do intracranial injection to brain directly, Plasmid vector intravenous injection to mous tail vein.

is there any other effective way to do this work?
