Hi,

I have read several papers on self organized TDMA and i found from literature survey that minimum number of slot required (candidate slot in selection interval) for this protocol is 4 (but it could lead to collision) and also it is understood from papers that minimum number of slots as 1 only would produce no or minimum collision in all of the cases like on 1% to 99 % load then why value of 4 is preferred.

In some cases authors have claimed that for endless reservation of slots minimum number of slot should be more (large selection interval). I considered this paper as primary source of information

Gaugel, T., Mittag, J., Hartenstein, H., Papanastasiou, S., & Strom, E. G. (2013, December). In-depth analysis and evaluation of Self-organizing TDMA. In Vehicular Networking Conference (VNC), 2013 IEEE (pp. 79-86). IEEE.

Question is, cant we just use minimum number of slot as 1 in all cases and avoid collision which seems true to me for all cases. (i will confirm this from simulation but quick answers are more than welcome)
