I am trying to use catalase from bovine liver to remove H2O2 from an aqueous solution containing a complex organic mixture. H2O2 is immediately removed, but I am afraid that H2O2 is not the only thing that is removed. I have two questions for people that have experience / knowledge about this enzyme:

1) Does catalase also react with other organic peroxides (e.g., methyl hydroperoxide, lipid hydroperoxides etc.). Any reference?

2) Does the H2O2-catalase complex (CpdI) react rapidly with a wide range of non-peroxide organic compounds? I've seen that formic acid is removed. Any reference?

Thanks and best regards!
