Secondary analysis refers to the use of existing research data to find an answer to a question that was different from the original work. When we do secondary analysis using research data that was different from the original work, Won't there be distortion in the results as the primary data were collected for different purposes? Even though statistical adjustments are made, will this not affect the results and conclusion? This is what I have noticed in systematic reviews wherein many studies get discarded citing methodological flaws. Can anyone please help me with this?
