these gastropods were collected associated with seagrass habitats in the east coast of India. Sizes l x w = (1). 10.09 x 3.32 mm, (2). 4.58 x 1.68 mm, (3). 4.22 x 2.15 mm, (4). 3.04 x 1.78 mm and (5). 3.44 x 1.19 mm. Identity is required for these.

Dear Samuel Kumar, It is quite difficult to identify gastropods without rigorous biometric parameters and animal description. However, taking in consideration: The number of spires (7), the shell form (long columella), the "ribs" configuration and siphonal channel morphology. it may correspond (possibly) to the genera Bela sp. (Gray, 1847) of the Mangeliidae family. Murex nebula may be synonimous (taxonomy of gastropa is in on going process).

Dear Deepak they are specimens of common (cosmopolitan) Alaba virgata (Philippi, 1849) the only photo it's a very yong specimen of Cerithidium diplax (Watson, 1886). Roberto

I agree with Roberto that nrs 1,2,5 are Gibborissoa virgata (Philippi, 1849). nr 3 is in a too bad state to identify it and nr 4 is a young Cerithiidae species.
