Hi we want to see the laser pulses(femtosecond pharos, 1030nm, 100KHz, 180 fs) with oscilloscope, what should be the settings we need to play with to see the signal from the photo diode detecting the laser pulses. we try to change the vertical and horizontal divisions(50 mV and 2 ns) this is what we got we got.

There are several concern you need to see,
1. Is you photodetector out of electricity? If there is no electricity in your photodetector, you would better try to buy new battery for your detector.
2. It better for your to make the scales of your oscilloscope narrower, better in picosecond level and 5 mV level.
3. Furthermore, you can only watch the train of the pulses rather than the real pulse width if there is not enough bandwidth of your oscilloscope.
