Hello. I am planning to expand our recent narrative review on informatics in emergency medicine. It seems like the reasonable next approach is to use scoping review to address the similar question from a different research methodology. I appreciate any input. Thanks!

A systematic review's goal is to answer a specific question: how much science is there on this specific research question? For instance, "how much research is there on the ability of B. pertussis vaccines to prevent the spread of infection?" A scoping review broader and helps evaluate the state of a field. That's how I would describe the difference anyway.

I'm not sure what your goal is, but if you're thinking about suggesting new research, rather than just analyzing the state of the field, the "call to research" format might be of some interest.
