I'm looking for band saw blades specifically for carbon fiber composites. Does anyone have any experience with cutting carbon-epoxy plates or any input?
I have done similar works in my research. When we go for mechanical shearing the accuracy and precision what we get is poor that too in CFC it is very poor.
Try it in abrasive water jets. you will get fantastic finish and dimensional accuracy. same time it is cheaper also.
thank you V R Arun Prakash for your response, I'm actually trying with a water jet cutter. I have sent some carbon plate to a cutting shop and I am waiting for the cut sample return.
I have received my cut samples by water jet. It's really impressive. The only problem is that the presence of void can develop delamination or small delaminated zone can be extended.
