I have tried to crystallize various salts of a novel compound.
I made Oxalic acid ,HCl and HBr salts and all failed to crystallize.
any suggestions ?
crystallize various salts of a novel compound one has to prepare a saturated solution in a water followed by heating, keeping the solution /or for 24 hrs. the substance crystallizes out.
Keep in mind the condition of saturation as suggested by Dr. Deshmukh

If your compound is big, you need a bigger ion to make it form crystals. Ions of very different sizes cannot form good crystals in general.
HPF6 or HClO4 are your best bet, especially HClO4 is known for giving great crystals but it's a bit dangerous.. handle with care!
If you are not getting any crystals with oxalic acid, HCl and HBr then can it be possible that your NOVEL compound is not a base in order to react with an acid so as to form a salt.
