If I say "Russian banking" - what would be your impression from the outside of the country? How advanced it is technologically? How well structured it is organizationally? Is it competitive or not? Is it customer-friendly and inclusive?
Many of the questions would be answered by Russians themselves and/or residents of Russia who deal directly with Russian banks. In addition, corresponding banks may also be able to judge their dealings with Russian banks.
Economist View: The banking sector performance of any country is usually linked to economic performance and how developed the capital market of that same country.
Russian Banking sector is " Not Advanced" but rather developing. Why? due to increase in government intervention (Political pressure), slow technological advancement, lack of proper prudential regulation, lack of accountability and transparency among banks staffs/heads (money laundering).
In the context of the above question, are the issues of improving the credit risk management process, including the implementation of new information technologies, ICT and Industry 4.0, also considered? If so, I am interested in scientific cooperation in this field.
