Piggybacking on Oral Tradition and Storytelling Activities, I invite any student or graduate of literature who reads this post to respond for potential sponsorship for them to teach themselves literary analysis. I particularly welcome candidates who do not align with the Language Resistance Movement prevalent among African intellectuals, which promotes the idea that Africans must pronounce English words in ways that deviate significantly from the phonetic notations in the Oxford English Dictionary (commonly associated with BBC pronunciation).

In contrast, Chinua Achebe, in many of his essays, encourages Africans to continually improve their English, including their spoken proficiency. This effort could be particularly impactful if pastors participate in the initiative, as they hold significant influence in African communities and often deliver sermons in English. By engaging pastors, we could achieve a dual purpose: enhancing the spiritual growth of their congregations while also improving their English-speaking skills.
