Retention time distribution in a SVR cascade with recirculation.

One can show that a cascade of SVR approaches plug-flow behavior with more vessels. One can also intuit that it approaches the behavior of a single SVR if you recirculate part of the outflow of one vessel back into one of the previous vessels. However, I have found no way to quantify this.

Also, how does the retention time distribution change if the vessels are of a dissimilar size?
