Not sure how much this helps, as, you probably are already aware of it - but most of David Lynch's screen works (films and TV) have a schizophrenia theme (sometimes it's overt, mostly subliminal). So in theory it may not be representation of schizophrenia in the overt terms you might be seeking. But -  Twin Peaks = (Killer Bob), and of course Lost Highway, Mulholland Drive, Blue Velvet, etc.

I believe the most relevant is the work Otto Wahl. The title of one of his books is "Media Madness" and there should be many papers.

Prof. W.J.T. Mitchell is researching that subject, so try googling his name and schizopphrenia, and I believe you will get a lot of useful material...

This basically dovetails within the purview of framing. Analysis can best assume the qualitative form. I think the works of Iyengar and Entman may help a great deal.
