Hi Nuqman. Did reading literature on work-life balance regarding male employees provoke any questions or objections in your mind? These could signal potential gaps. For example, did you find that few studies tackled certain work environments like uberized ones or corporations as opposed to SME’s? Do we know enough about cultural perceptions of work-like balance in different countries? (Any topic that advances our understanding of the impact of gender discrimation on work-life balance for males would interest me, but it may have been over-studied).

Betty Beeler The literature I have found on male employees made me question how gender roles have made men’s work-life balance to not be researched thoroughly due to their gender roles and the need for them to be ”masculine“ and the need for them to not be viewed as vulnerable. I aim to study the male perspectives of their expected gender roles and how it impacts their work-life balance (mainly work-family conflict).

As with any topic that deals with human behavior, you'll have to avoid the trap of over-generalizating by making sure that your claims are backed up by your sources and data. This might mean delimiting the geographical, societal, cultural, or socio-economic contours of your study, but that should be no problem!
