Its often, when we search for a research papers many times I encounter research gate links more than google scholar.
But, many of my colleagues say Google Scholar is very much easy to understand about the research of author's and its citations details (h-index; i10 index etc..) than RG.
In this regard, I want to know people's perception on it across the globe...
I use both and don't usually prefer one over the other. I, however, believe Google Scholar is a more extensive database.

ResearchGate is the best one. Google Scholar gives the more number of results, most of the results not relevant for the search but researchgate provides more relevant articles. Majority of the institutions ask your Google scholar h-index, citations. that the same way future will ask RG scores.
ResearchGate is contributing significantly to research because it provides researchers with relevant scientific paper.

They ought to adopt a different scale and should be more stable. Trivial contributions should be disregarded to discourage research parasites and stop the nonsense.

Google and ResearchGate have made great favor to the advancement of scientific research. ResearchGate scoring has serious deficiencies and researchers have the right of how they are scored
